My 17 year old is currently enjoying the home school set up. My six year old has been complete opposite. Hates Zoom and makes us work so hard to keep him engaged. It has been extremely stressful to manage his homeschool schedule while working from home. How has it been for you?

Same here Kristen! My 17 year old son has really found a groove and is self sufficient , but my 6 year old requires one of us to be there with him during the zoom meetings and throughout the day - he really hates zoom and is very hard foe him to focus - it’s been super stressful and very difficult to balance work and school and Covid — we are taking a much needed family vacay over thanksgiving break - we are going out in nature and staying in a ‘tiny home’ cabin on a beautiful lake for 1 week. We all can’t wait! And are counting the days. Hopeful that things shift in the new year and that families have more support - so we don’t all go crazy

Just seeing this forum. Somehow I missed where it is on the site this past month :)

My 5 and 9 year olds are not feeling it at all. They see it as something to get through, not enjoy. My wife and I are fortunate to be home with them and have flexible schedules, so the only way we get them to engage is by being one on one with them each almost the entire school day. It's a lot, involves me getting up super early to get some work done before they start their days, my wife staying up late after their bedtime to do her work. I'm tired and am in countdown mode til the end of 2020. I'm going to need some kind of new psychological coping if this is going to continue on Jan-June, too.
